We know the Hudson Valley is a beautiful place to call home. The Catskills cast their shadow over the Hudson River. The same geography that makes the Hudson Valley so beautiful also makes the weather much more difficult to predict. Furthermore, conditions can be significantly different just a few miles away.
Tune into New York City or Albany weather, and the Hudson Valley can sometimes seem like a different planet. Hudson Valley Weather is excited to be taking on this challenge every day. Our small team of amateur meteorologists together with our huge team of fans and followers means we can give you solid forecasts and up-to-the-minute current conditions.
To help you better understand, Hudson Valley Weather has created our proprietary Hudson Valley Micro-Climate Zone Map, dividing the valley into nine zones, each with a unique meteorological signature. We use the zone map in many of our forecasts. You’ll find it amazing how much different two zones can be within a few hundred yards.
The map covers ten counties; Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester Counties.
The nine micro-climates give us the ability to predict snowfall, wind speed, and temperatures with remarkable accuracy. You won’t find more accurate forecasting anywhere for the Hudson Valley.
