Take a look at the difference in temps on either side of this stalled front! You can go from 60’s, to below freezing in a 30 minute drive. A serious ice storm rages to our North as a layer of cold air only a few hundred meters thick has settled at the surface, leading to a prolonged period of freezing rain for areas North of Albany. Meanwhile to the South we are basking in unseasonable, and in some cases record warmth, with temps over sixty degrees in the Hudson Valley and seventy degrees in NYC. This front will eventually push South across our region bringing temps right back to normal by tomorrow night with in some cases a 40-50 degree temperature drop.
