The battle this weekend will be between clouds and sunshine… as high pressure surges in from the north, while a disturbance over the Mid Atlantic tries to push up from the south…
High pressure will push south from Canada… trying to clear out the skies across the Hudson Valley. At the same time, a weak area of low pressure near North Carolina, will try to drift north. The battle between high and low pressure, puts the Hudson Valley smack on the front lines of the fight.
Ok… that’s a bit over dramatic, but the battle between sunshine advancing from the north, and clouds advancing from the south, will mean a constant shifting of periods of sunshine… followed by mostly cloudy skies, and then sunshine again. It will remain dry until Sunday night, because the high pressure will protect us thru the weekend. But the high pressure begins a slow exit by the end of the weekend, allowing the moisture and clouds to our south to begin pushing north.
Monday looks rather gray, and even a few spot showers could impact our weather. The trick is figuring out how long the impacts of this system will linger, and how much (if any) rain falls in the Hudson Valley. We’ll continue to track this thru the weekend.
