Something a little different today. One of the things I used to have on Mid Hudson Weather was a section that I called “Billy’s Banter”. The title was pretty lame, but the section consisted of the weather… but also just me ‘talking’. So that’s what I want to do this morning…
First the weather… as you can see above, it’s not a picture perfect weekend… but it’s not terrible either. Saturday looks really quite good all in all. Outdoor plans should go off without a hitch. Things become more unsettled overnight Saturday, with some scattered showers possible. Those unsettled conditions last into Sunday, and while we won’t see a washout… those with outdoor plans may need to dodge some showers. Check back Saturday night or Sunday morning for a better idea of the specifics.
It’s been a fantastic first week for me here at HVW. I’m having a blast! I’m getting used to the format, and slowly developing a relationship with the HVW fan base. It’s going to take some time to become comfortable getting your weather from someone other than just Alex… and the reverse is true for the old MHW fans. In the past, Alex and I often had very similar forecasts for major storms. I know that, because I’m a competitive person, and after I developed and posted my MHW forecast, I used to compare it to the HVW forecast. So here we both were, spending all this time developing separate forecasts… and arriving at the same ideas. Teaming up makes perfect sense. Now you get all the information you need… right here, at HVW.
But the process is very different. For starters, I have been running into some serious writer’s block all week, something I’m not used to at all. When I posted on MHW, everything just flowed so smoothly (even if I did tend to ramble a bit). I don’t know if it’s nerves, or what… but I just can’t seem to say what’s on my mind… in the way that I want to say it. I might just be trying too hard, honestly. I want to make a good impression, so I’m probably overthinking it. Going forward, I’m just going to be more casual. I’ll introduce you to my daughter… who is the center of my universe when I’m not on here. Don’t worry… I won’t inundate you with stories and pictures, I just give a little insight into my life here and there. My wife, on the other hand, likes to maintain a low profile, so it’s mainly the ‘weather munchkin’ who you’ll be hearing about from time to time.
But nearly one week in… I couldn’t be happier. I can’t wait for you to see some of the things that are coming down the road. It’s going to be a very exciting year… and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you, and keeping you one step ahead of the weather. Now… it’s time for me to get some sleep. This will post up 1st thing in the morning, but I do my best work at night… so I put my posts together at night, sometimes late at night. So as it approaches 1am, it’s time for me to wrap up this extra long post. Thank you so much for all of the support during this transition… you guys have literally blown me away.
Have a great start to your weekend…
