Wednesday: Mix of clouds and sun. Warmer, and slightly more humid. An isolated afternoon shower or storm possible in the Catskills. High in the low to mid 80s. Chance of rain 30%.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers late, milder. Low in the low to mid 60s. Chance of rain 60%.
Thursday: Clouds mixed with periods of sun. Rather humid with scattered showers and thundershowers possible. High near 80°. Chance of rain 50%.
Another below average day across the Hudson Valley on Tuesday… as afternoon temps reached 82°… which is normal for this time of year. However, the morning low of 51° was 9° below average… so the day as a whole was once again below normal in terms of temperature. Otherwise, the day was magnificent. Tons of sunshine, low humidity, and just very comfortable conditions.
Wednesday we will begin to see some subtle differences. The wind will be very light out of the south. That should allow humidity levels to rise just a bit, and make for a slightly sticky day. Afternoon high temps will also be on the rise, pushing toward the mid 80s in many places. Add to it… the potential for an isolated afternoon thundershower in the Catskills… and you’ve got a very summer like day. The warmth holds on for the overnight… making for a slightly muggy feel.
Thursday is looking a bit more unsettled than Wednesday. It appears there is a better chance for widespread scattered showers… and even a thundershower. The humidity levels look to remain slightly uncomfortable as well, so Wednesday is definitely looking like the better of the next 2 days… but Thursday is by no means a washout.
Looking toward the weekend… the chance that our northwest flow will return, is looking quite good. But that should help to push any moisture south of the area, and lower humidity once again… so we’ll have to look closer as we near the weekend.
A very busy week for me… so I’m going to keep the chatter to a minimum for tonight. Hope you all have a great Wednesday
