After a couple warm… but unsettled days across the Hudson Valley, we’ll dry out… and have mostly sunny skies. However… with the sun, comes the heat and humidity!
As we’ve been discussing for a couple days… high pressure will dominate the weather over the eastern U.S.. That will allow for additional heat and humidity to seep into the Northeast and Hudson Valley. Tuesday looks quite hot… as the entire HV should climb into the low 90s. The Catskills, which are traditionally cooler, will be true to form on Tuesday, likely staying just below the 90° mark. The humidity will increase… but it should not be completely oppressive on Tuesday.
That honor is reserved for Wednesday… which looks to be the peak of the heat and humidity. While skies should remain mostly sunny again on Wednesday… afternoon highs should soar into the mid 90s. When you factor in the climbing humidity… it could once again feel like it’s 100° or more!
As we remember from last week… be sure to plan ahead. You’ll want to take frequent breaks if working outdoors. Be sure to drink plenty of water, and do not forget to check on those who may need assistance. When it comes to pets… the same rules apply. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them… don’t leave them in the car. And be sure to give a 2nd glance into the back seat before you exit your car on both Tuesday and Wednesday… the last thing any of us wants is to forget we have precious cargo in the back seat.
