Tuesday: A mix of clouds and sunshine… more sun to the north, more clouds to the south… and mild. High in the mid 60s.
Tuesday Night: Becoming cloudy with patchy areas of drizzle and a spotty shower. Low in the low 50s. Chance of rain 40%.
Wednesday: Morning clouds with a couple showers possible. Partial clearing late in the day with increasing wind. High in the low 60s.
Monday was a very nice day across the Hudson Valley, with widespread highs into the low 60s, and abundant sunshine. Tuesday is looking like a decent day… but we could see a fair amount of clouds, especially south of I-84. Either way, it should stay dry, and more importantly mild… with temps into the low and mid 60s. We’ll see clouds roll in Tuesday night, along with the threat of some drizzle and a spot shower.
Wednesday, we’ll see one last mild day, as well as more clouds and a patchy shower. During the afternoon, the cold front will push thru… and it will be marked by an increase in the wind out of the northwest, some clearing skies, and dropping temps… all right around sunset. That will mark the changes coming our way.
Thursday is our transition day… where we’ll see a cold northwest wind funnel in the arctic air (upper 40s). By Friday, the cold is in place, and the weather map looks like what you see above. An area of low pressure should form along the arctic front… which is likely far enough out to sea, to have no impact in our area. If this storm tracks further west… the western edge of the moisture could reach the coast, so we’ll keep an eye on it.
Otherwise Friday looks cold and blustery (upper 30s to low 40s), with some scattered flurries possible. The lake effect snow machine will be on… so it will feel quite wintry across the northeast. The cold sticks around thru the weekend… and into next week.
The pattern is primed for snow threats. The computer models continue to struggle with this wild pattern… being very inconsistent with snow threats all over the country. For now… there is nothing concrete to talk about, but the next 10 to 15 days appears very active. If anything important shows up, we’ll be sure to pass it along. For now… it’s just a very cold, wintry pattern shaping up for the 2nd half of November.
As I wrap tonight’s post up… I just want to thank you guys on behalf of myself and Alex. You guys have had some very nice things to say in the past few days. We’ve been doing a lot of work… on Facebook, here on the website, as well as behind the scenes… and it’s really awesome, all the positive responses we’ve gotten. It really motivates us and keeps us going… so thanks for all the support. And on that note… I need to get some sleep. Hopefully you can get out and enjoy one of the warmest days we’ll probably see until 2015. If we can keep the clouds at bay… Tuesday could be a great one!
