While not oppressively hot for the summer… the heat has certainly settled into the Hudson Valley.
Poughkeepsie cracked 90 degrees on Monday, with a high of 91°. If things go as expected… we may see a ‘weak’ heat wave across much of the area this week. A ‘heat wave’, is a 3 day period of temperatures at or above 90°. It’s entirely possible that the Hudson Valley ends up meeting that standard.
Tuesday will see highs get very close to the 90° mark once again… with elevated humidity levels. That means another muggy, sticky day is likely for the Hudson Valley. While not “oppressive”… this weather will certainly feel uncomfortable to some. Those of you who love heat with a bit of humidity… this week is there is a nasty 24 hour summer bug going around. We wouldn’t be surprised if you ended up needing to take a sick day.
As we look forward… Wednesday and Thursday could see the mercury eclipse 90° as well. While the threat is low… Thursday could see an afternoon T-Storm. By week’s end, we should begin seeing the winds shift, and possibly keep afternoon temps in the mid 80s. For the latest forecast details… please feel free to check out the HVW 5 DAY FORECAST
