After the tropical air mass associated with the remnants of Hurricane Nate, today’s weather will feel like a breath of fresh air.
Sunshine will mix with a few fair weather clouds on this 2nd Tuesday of October. Unlike the past several days where our winds were out of the south, we have a light NW wind today, and that has really chopped up the humidity. Instead of dew points near 70° like the past few days… dew points on Tuesday will be in the upper 50s. So despite the very warm air that’s in place, where we’ll see highs in the upper 70s… it will be quite comfortable. Anyone with outdoor plans will be happy with Tuesday’s weather.
Looking ahead the next few days… we’ll see some increased clouds on Wednesday and Thursday, with the approach of a storm system from our west. It does seem likely to push clouds, and perhaps a few scattered showers into the region by Wednesday afternoon and evening. This is the same system that brought several inches of snow to Denver. The air mass will moderate considerably as it pushes east… so despite the changing seasons, take a deep breath everyone… it’s just rain showers.
By Thursday, the system has pushed to our east, but it likely leaves some instability behind, and gives the Hudson Valley a good bit of clouds and even an area of patchy drizzle. We’ll have to see how much instability lingers behind.
For today however… it’s going to be a beauty. Hope you enjoy it!
