Happy Thursday morning, Hudson Valley! Just a short update today…
Bright sunshine starts the day across the entire Hudson Valley… but we’ll see high clouds filter in as the day progresses. This is due to the combination of a weak upper level disturbance in Canada, and the approaching storm in the Ohio Valley. The two will combine to filter some clouds into the Hudson Valley. A localized light shower can’t be ruled out… but the majority of the area will see clouds mixed with sun… and highs around or just above 80°.
We’ve been tracking a storm system for a few days now. A low pressure system will pass well to our south (thru the Ohio Valley), and off the Mid-Atlantic coast. The concern has been over the jet stream buckling just enough to pull this storm up the coast, like a nor’easter. That no longer appears likely to happen. Instead… the storm will likely remain weak, move off the coast of Virginia, and harmlessly out to sea.
Impacts in the Hudson Valley, appear to be nothing more than some extra cloudiness on Saturday… and even that is debatable. In our area, it’s entirely possible that we have a weekend packed full of sunshine and blue skies, without feeling any of the affects from this storm. We’ll be fine tuning the forecast over the next day or two… and you can follow along with the latest ideas in the HVW 5 DAY FORECAST.
We’ll take another look at things Thursday night… until then, have a great day!
