10 days ago… there were rumors of a snowstorm making for a wintry Thanksgiving across the Hudson Valley. Instead, now that it’s here, we have a sunny and chilly Thanksgiving Day!
We have mostly sunny skies, mixing with some fair weather clouds for our Thanksgiving Thursday. The winds have calmed out of the WNW, but provided us with a bit of a chill across the region. Afternoon highs across the Hudson Valley should top out right around 40°… which is roughly 10 degrees below average. Still, the weather is nice and tranquil for anyone travelling to visit family today.
The tranquil weather continues through tonight, where we’ll have mostly clear skies and cold temperatures. Overnight lows likely fall into the mid 20s for most of the valley areas. But again… fine weather for travel. Black Friday looks great for anyone getting out there and battling for deals. We’ll have lots of sunshine and winds shifting out of the SW during the day. That should warm temperatures on Friday up into the upper 40s, and possibly near 50° in spots.
Saturday looks to see a warm start, with temperatures pushing into the low and possibly mid 50s by early afternoon. But a front will push down from Canada, and that should pull some clouds… and even a few spotty rain showers… into the picture for the afternoon on Saturday. But really… the calm weather should extend right through Saturday.
So from us here at HVW, we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We wish you safe travel, and lots of joy with friends and family. Thank you for being a part of our family, with all the support you’ve shown us over the past years. We’re thankful that we get to share our love of the weather with you, each and every day! Have a great day!
