Sunday: Sunshine mixing with clouds. Breezy and a bit cooler. High in the mid to upper 50s.
Sunday Night: Clearing skies. Low in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Monday: Mostly sunny skies. High in the upper 50s to low 60s.
A beautiful day unfolded across the Hudson Valley on Saturday. Both Poughkeepsie and Montgomery topped out at 66° under brilliant sunshine. The average high being right at 60°, meant that Saturday was comfortably above normal.
Sunday will be a bit cooler, thanks to a weak cold front that passed through the Hudson Valley Saturday night. The winds will shift out of the northwest and strengthen. With afternoon highs in the mid to upper 50s, expect Sunday to feel quite a bit cooler than Saturday. Monday looks a touch warmer, but there will be big improvements in terms of more sunshine, and less wind.
A bit of a warm up is heading our way for Tuesday and Wednesday, as a ridge of high pressure allows some warm air to flow up from the south.
But the warmth may be short lived… because computer data is seeing a cold blast of Canadian air next weekend. This GFS computer model image is likely a bit too cold, but look at how much colder the highs by next Saturday could be. Stay posted thru the week as we watch this situation unfold:
The Winter Outlook is finally finished! FINALLY! I can tell you that Alex and I have been pouring into this for weeks now, trying to formulate our ideas, and then find the time to get them organized into a format we were happy with. We know many of you have been waiting almost a month for this, so we thank you for your patience. We’re just doing the final editing on it tonight… but we anticipate releasing it around noon on Sunday. Check back early Sunday afternoon, or monitor the Facebook page, for more information. If we run into any delays, we’ll let you know. On that note… it’s 1am, and I’m beat. No way to sugar coat that, other than to say… Good Night, and have a great Sunday!
