Sunday: Cloudy with periods of rain by late morning. Rain could start as a period of light freezing rain. High in the upper 30s to low 40s. Winds light and variable.
Sunday Night: Rain tapering off to rain showers. Rain showers could mix with wet snow before ending before midnight. Low near 30°. A slushy coating possible in a few areas.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with scattered flurries, breezy and colder late in the day. High in the mid 30s. Winds NW at 10 to 15mph.
Sunday will be a cold… raw day across the Hudson Valley. We could see a couple surprises… but in general, it’s a cold, soaking rain. We could see some patchy freezing drizzle to start the day, especially near and south of I-84.
The bulk of the moisture should hold off until temperature are above freezing… making for a cold rain. However, a few areas of ice can’t be ruled out. Keep tabs on the situation in the morning… because if some moisture reaches the Hudson Valley before 10am… freezing rain is certainly a possibility.
From there… a soaking rain appears likely…
It continues to look as if the storm pulls away too quickly for accumulating snow in the Hudson Valley. It is possible that the rain mixes with snow, before ending before midnight… with nothing more than a slushy minor accumulation. Should anything change… we will immediately pass the information along… but ultimately, it appears to be a close call, but a mainly rain event. Complete 5 day Forecast
It’s been a crazy, long day on Saturday, so we’re going to skip the banter for tonight. We are watching a few smaller storm threats for Wednesday, and then again for next weekend. Daily high temps look to settle into the low 30s, so we’d be talking light snow with these events. Once we get the Sunday event off the table… we’ll take a closer look. Thank you so much for all the support! You guys keep us going, day in and day out… so thank you for that!
