Happy Independence Day! After a fantastic day of weather on Friday… we reach the 4th of July with some unsettled weather.
As a weak low pressure system moves to the coast Saturday morning, it will spread periods of light to moderate rain with it. Rain showers should reach the HV by mid morning on Saturday… and continue thru the noon hour. Indications are that the bulk of the rain showers will exit the area between 4pm and 7pm…
While a spot shower can’t be ruled out… it looks as if conditions will be mostly cloudy (and mostly dry) for fireworks on Saturday. The clouds and rain shows will also hold down the temperatures on Saturday…
Much of the day will likely see temperatures pinned down in the 60s… but during the late afternoon hours, if the rain tapers off soon enough, temps could climb above 70 degrees for an hour or two.
It’s surely not the nicest day in terms of Independence Day weather… but with a little luck, the showers won’t be as organized as some of the data is projecting (image above). Regardless… a gray and damp 4th of July awaits. This will be the 2nd year in a row… as last year fought showers for much of the day. Hopefully like last year, the rain exits in time for the fireworks to go off without a hitch.
Good news for Sunday at least… sunshine makes a return, and we’ll see temps climb into the mid 80s. Those of you who have been asking for summer… Sunday you’ll get a preview. While it won’t be 90s… it’s still sunshine and average temps for early July, and that’s gotta be worth something. For complete details on the next 5 days… please check the:

Finally… we’ve had our HVW App Survey up for about a week now. Time is running out, as the survey will only be up thru July 6th. So many people have been asking for an HVW App… and it’s in the process of becoming a reality. But we’d like to hear from you, about what you’d like to see, as well as a few other pieces of info. Your input is tremendously valuable, so if you can spare a few minutes to fill out the survey, we’d be so thankful!
We’ll have updates on the rain on our Facebook page as necessary on Saturday. Happy Independence Day, Hudson Valley!
