Friday saw some decent weather across the Hudson Valley. It was a perfect example of just how different the weather in our area can be from NYC. A persistent SE flow kept NYC in the clouds and drizzle virtually all day… and they never made it out of the 60s.
Saturday, however… everyone will get in on the nice weather…
Clouds will linger into the morning on Saturday, but the Northwest flow will push them south of our area as the day progresses. The afternoon hours look absolutely fantastic, with very comfortable temperatures… and very comfortable humidity…
Sunday looks like a carbon copy of Saturday… with the difference being more sunshine in the morning, and a few afternoon clouds. Highs in the mid 70s will do the trick as well… leaving us with an outstanding weekend of weather! Our next chance for rain, starts late Sunday night, and lasts into Tuesday.
We’ll see a frontal system push into the Hudson Valley… and exactly how it progresses is a bit uncertain. This NAM model image shows the front pushing in quickly… while some of the other data (European model) is slower. While the timeline of the rain threat may be uncertain… the data all agrees on the basic idea of a cold front touching off showers and thunderstorms across the Hudson Valley. So hopefully… we can add to the rainfall totals in our area, as we’re still well below average on the year.
