After a fall like Friday, the Hudson Valley has a rather nice weekend on tap, at least for the second half of September. Poughkeepsie’s high on Friday was 66°, which is more typical of the second week of October. Not “cold” by any stretch, but definitely a bit cool. The weekend looks comfortable in terms of temperatures… with Sunday even taking a shot at the 80 degree mark. The only complaint that might be had, is that we could see a fair amount of cloudiness this weekend. That’s because the Hudson Valley will be wedged between 2 weather features…
To our north, is a cold front that will be approaching by late in the afternoon Sunday… and to our south, is a coastal storm that will pass to the southeast of the region. Clouds associated with both storm systems could make their way into the Hudson Valley as our area is sandwiched between the disturbances. It does look like any rainfall associated with the cold front, holds off until late afternoon (likely after dark) on Sunday.
We’re going to keep this short and sweet, because we put together some statistics on this past summer… and we’ll be sharing those with you on Saturday as well. So get out there and enjoy some beautiful early fall weather… and then come back here and check out the HVW summer recap later today. Ok, that was a shameless plug… but that’s what you get at 2am.
