I slowly approaching cold front will spark of a few rounds of showers and even a few thunderstorms throughout the day. A disturbance will ride along this front and bring a round of steadier rain tonight into Monday. Model estimates put potential rainfall amounts at 1-2 inches, given the dry summer we have had this is a much needed rainfall. Out ahead of this front warm, humid air has pumped into the region, this muggy air will linger even after the frontal passage, we will need to wait for another front before we can knock the humidity back down to normal along with the above average temps. There isn’t much instability available today so any storms that do form today will be isolated and only contain gusty winds and heavy rain, clearing conditions should commence later Monday evening.
