After a cool weekend, and a chilly start to our Monday… we should have a great day on our hands.
After morning lows close to 40° in some parts of the valley… we’ll have sunshine and blue skies start off the work week. Winds will be nearly calm out of the north, so the chill of previous days should be lessened. Humidity won’t be an issue at all, thanks to our Canadian air mass of late. Afternoon highs will be right around 70° for most of the valley. Not too shabby for the beginning of October.
With September now finished, here’s the almanac for Poughkeepsie from Saturday, which has the recap for the month of September.
Considering that the first 10 days of September were 6.4 degrees below average, the fact that the month of September finished 2.4° above average is quite significant. So it was certainly a tale of 2 months for the Hudson Valley.
As we look at the week ahead, the nice weather will carry us through the work week. Another big ridge of high pressure will set up over the eastern half of the US, and that means warm and dry weather…
So if anyone has outdoor plans for the week… you’re in good shape. Our next chance at showers comes late Friday into Saturday… so we’ll track it as we get closer.
Have a great Monday!
