Another nice weekend across the Hudson Valley… when push came to shove. Poughkeepsie’s high on Saturday was a comfortable 76°… and Sunday was a degree below normal at 82°. We saw increasing clouds on Saturday… and increasing sunshine on Sunday. Both days were dry… with just a few scattered showers overnight Saturday night. By no means was it a “summer like” weekend… but it was surely a comfortable weekend for outdoor activities.
Now we head into the work week… and the pattern will continue. Clouds will mix with sunshine, and temps should be near or just a touch below normal… not just Monday, but on Tuesday as well. Wednesday could see some instability in the form of showers… but we’ll take a closer look at that in the Monday Night update.
What a long day it’s been for me. Had a great day, truth be told. The wife and I went out to lunch at the Texas Roadhouse… one of my favorite places to eat these days. Then we went out to the movies, and saw “Guardians of the Galaxy”. I’m a tremendous Marvel Comics fan, and love most of the movies… this one was no different. What a great movie… at least in my opinion. Sunday was a great day for us… a nice chance to get out and be grown ups… instead of just parents. So with a great day in the books… and the clock indicating that I should already be asleep, I’m about to call it a night.
Thanks for all the tremendous feedback on the July 2014 Statistics we posted on Sunday. The weather is something most of us just experience day to day… and only have memory to fall back on. So sometimes it’s fun to put the weather in the context of hard numbers. Based on the early feedback we’ve gotten… you guys are enjoying the statistics. Sometime in September, we’ll likely pull together statistics for the entire summer, and see how that stacks up against other years.
Ok… I’m off to bed… and I hope you have a great start to your work week. Have a nice Monday!
