It works out well that our work week closes out on a warm and rather tranquil note. Because our Winter Outlook will be published around 9am. But until then… lets talk about the warmth we’ll have for Friday.
Poughkeepsie cracked 70° on Thursday, and will likely get there again on Friday. Clouds will outnumber breaks of sunshine, but a persistent SW flow will pull the warmth back into the Hudson Valley, despite the limited sun. A sharp cold front will bring changes our way for the weekend, and it will begin impacting our area around mid day on Friday. Expect thickening clouds, and even a few spotty rain showers for the early to mid afternoon hours. Any rain showers should be rather light, and not long lasting, but plan for the possibility of a brief afternoon shower.
The chill invades the Hudson Valley Friday night, with lows likely in the mid to upper 30s under clearing skies. Then we should see a mix of clouds and sunshine for Saturday, along with a chilly breeze. Highs on Saturday likely only climbing into the mid 50s… which is right on track for this time of year. So after a month of very warm temperatures (October was 7.5° above average in Poughkeepsie)… we’re beginning to see Mother Nature try and balance the scale to start November.
Have a great Friday, and we hope you enjoy the Winter Outlook!
