Another bitter cold day, to close out our work week. After a surprise burst of snow across much of the HV on Thursday (a dusting to a half inch on average), Friday looks mostly dry… just cold. We likely fall short of 25°… making it almost 20 degrees below normal. The scary thing, is that after everything else this month… Friday likely won’t feel all that terrible.
Friday night… pack your bags… we’re going on one more trip to the arctic. Temps will very likely fall below zero once again… as mostly clear skies and a calm wind, combine with an arctic air mass to generate an extremely cold night.
We’ll take 1 more swing at a record low Saturday morning. This one’s going to be a battle… because the record low is -6° (1950)… and we should see Poughkeepsie right in the ballpark. We’ll keep you posted if any records fall. Regardless… our legendarily brutal February might go out with a bang (or at least the sound of some falling records).
March tries to come in like a lion… as a frontal system pushes toward the HV on Sunday…
We still have a fair amount of questions to answer… but this graphic gives you the idea. A frontal boundary pushes into the HV, and touches off some snow on Sunday night. The Monday AM commute could be an issue… but 3+ days until that storm arrives, so please check back for more details as we get closer.

Have a Fantastic Friday… please stay warm, and THANK YOU for all your support! It means more to us than you know!
