As we head into the weekend… we’ve got more gorgeous weather expected in the Hudson Valley…
Sunshine and seasonable warmth will be the story once again on Friday. High pressure over the east coast continues to dominate the weather pattern. If you have outdoor plans… this is great news. Friday and Saturday look completely dry, with humidity levels that should remain quite low. Sunday we could see the humidity increase just a tad… but things should remain dry during the daylight hours on Sunday as well.
While all this dry weather is great news for outdoor activities… our local farmers will be quick to tell you, that we could use some rain. Here’s a graphic that shows the total rainfall over the last 90 days (roughly May, June, & July). Poughkeepsie averages nearly 13.50″ of rain over that 3 month span. Now… keep in mind, June was a very wet month, with almost the entire Hudson Valley seeing above average rainfall…Over the past 90 days… with the exception of one or two locations, like southern Sullivan County… the entire Hudson Valley is below average. In many areas, the grass is turning brown… so the rain would be a welcome sight. We’ll continue to be on the lookout for rain, and let you know what we see.
But you can see for yourself in the 5 day forecast… the prospects of rain, aren’t very good in the short range:

But let’s make the most of it… enjoy the sunshine, enjoy the warmth, enjoy the low humidity. The weekend is on our doorstep, and we’ve got some great weather! TGIF, and we hope you have a fantastic Friday!
