Friday: Partly cloudy and very cold, with a bitter breeze. High in the low to mid 30s. Wind Chills in the mid 20s.
Friday Night: Clear and very cold. Low in the upper 10s to low 20s.
Saturday: Sunshine mixing with afternoon clouds. High in the upper 30s to near 40°.
Not as cold across the Hudson Valley on Thursday… as temps actually climbed into the low and mid 40s for much of the area. Even so… it was still about 5 degrees below what you would expect for the date.
Friday looks even colder, as the cold front has pushed thru the area, and a stiff NW wind will begin to howl. Afternoon highs will struggle to 35°, and the winds will really make it feel like mid winter once again. Just look at these projected wind chills on Friday:
Friday night will be another cold night, as temps try and dip into the upper teens. Right now, no records appear to be in jeopardy… but we’ll track it.
Saturday looks better however… as we take baby steps toward warmer weather. Saturday the winds shift around to more of a SW flow, and we’ll try and get some warmer air into the Hudson Valley.
Near 40° on Saturday could become near 50° on Sunday. And if we’re lucky… maybe near 60° on Monday?
That’s going to do it for tonight… Alex and I spent a good while discussing (you’ll never guess….) the weather. There are a lot of very interesting things going on in the weather world, in terms of trends and patterns. Looking down the road into December, we’re tossing around ideas about what we might expect. While we will see a break in the pattern over the weekend and into next week… it doesn’t look like it will last. By this time next week, we could be talking about afternoon temperatures close to where they are now (30s). We’ll have more on the longer range over the weekend. Thanks for all the support guys… you continue to be tremendous with your support. TGIF, and I’ll see you here Friday night…
