Friday : Partly cloudy and quite chilly. High in the mid 60s.
Friday Night : A few clouds and cool. Low in the mid 40s.
Saturday : Partly cloudy, comfortable and warmer. High in the mid 70s.
Thursday was a heat wave of sorts… with an afternoon high of 76° in Poughkeepsie, we saw the warmest day we’ve had in 7 days. But thanks to a chilly start (43° in Poughkeepsie), the day as a whole was still below normal for the date. For the month, we’re still 0.6° above average… but that could definitely change in the coming days.
Friday will definitely feel like fall. We’ll start off below average… likely in the low to mid 40s… but unlike previous days, the sun won’t do much for daytime temps. Projected highs in the mid 60s are the best we’ll do, and that’s roughly 10 degrees below average.
The wind shifts around for the weekend, and a more southerly flow will allow temps to rebound nicely for Saturday. Where Saturday looks nice… Sunday could be even better! Sunshine and clouds, along with afternoon highs in the upper 70s to near 80° on Sunday… could make for some fantastic outdoor plans.
With summer fading quickly into the sunset… this weekend may be the nicest weekend we see for quite some time. We could certainly luck out in the coming weeks… but as we enter into autumn, we’ll see fewer and fewer nice weather weekends. Two days with near to above average temperatures and no rain (although Sunday evening could see some scattered showers). If you can get out there and enjoy the weather this weekend, definitely do it.
On that note… I hope you have a great Friday! Another work week in the books, where does the time go? TGIF!!
