Today temps will spike to near 70 degrees with a chance for a few strong to severe thunderstorms.
High wind watches are in effect for Orange,Putnam,Rockland and Westchester Counties for Saturday night into Sunday. We expect these high wind watches to expand to the entire region, winds on Sunday may gust as high as 50 mph with power outages possible.
These NW winds will help usher in a colder air mass into the region. Highs in the 30’s and 40’s and lows into the teens and 20’s are possible next week. These colder temps will be accompanied with multiple chances for snow as well. Most of the snow chances look light, but we have a few models holding onto the potential for even a plowable snowfall across parts of the region next week.
To sum up the next few days we will go from 70 and thunderstorms today to damaging winds, to freezing temps and snow in about three days. Some of these temps may be record cold, and if some of the projected snowfall comes to fruition, it could also be record levels. We will continue to monitor and keep you all abreast of things as we progress. Everyone have a great April Fools Day!
